Oasi di montagna

Oasi di montagna (Tunisia)

In the very centre of Mediterranean Africa we find the country of Tunisia. It’s located to the south of Italy and Malta, and borders with Libya and Algeria. The Temperature is mildly rainy in winters and hot and dry summers.

Some of the most popular destinations in Tunisia are Port El Kantaoui, which is very popular with tourists. Djerba is a small Mediterranean Island and Douz is a tourist town known for the camel rides in the Sahara Desert. Another nice place to visit is Jugutha’s Table with its moon like surface and deep crevasses it’s a must to visit. To find some of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world you should visit El Jem. Sufetula and Dougga also have its Roman City ruins. In Kerkouane you can find the untouched Punic settlement. For Star Wars fans you can visit Matmata where Tatooine was filmed. The picturesque seaside city of Sidi Bou Said is known for the white houses with the blue doors and shutters.  Between Sousse and Monastir we find Skanes, which is a quite resort base. If you want to have a ride through scenic gorges and hills aboard the Red Lizard train you’ll have to visit Metlaoui.

If you want to visit Tunisia and enjoy the nice Mediterranean beaches or tour the countries’ historic sites it’s very easy as there are numerous charter flight companies that can arrange flight and accommodation. You can also use other agencies that have several tours and packages available. Tunisia’s tourism industry is well developed but Hotel star ratings are not par with European and US standards. It is advised that you organise your hotel reservations online or by phone before your arrival.
